Garry David Mattingly

Garry David Mattingly, 51, of Owensboro passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at his home. Born in Owensboro on April 18, 1957, he was the son of Alfred (Sr.) and Commie Carter Mattingly; was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church; and had worked for over 30 years at Acme Plumbing and Heating and for 5 years worked at the Wayside Christian Mission in Louisville where he was a sponsor for individuals at the rehabilitation center. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus for the Homeless Shelter at Christmas time; was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, Boston Celtics and the Louisville Cardinals; loved music; but most especially, enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father.

In addition to his mother, Commie Mattingly of Owensboro, he is survived by brothers, Alfred, Jr. (and Judy) Mattingly, his twin, Barry Dennis (and Maria) Mattingly, Mark Mattingly, Darren Mattingly (and Stacy) all of Owensboro; sisters, Linda (and Nick) Mason of Powder Springs, GA, Connie M. (and Tom) Brown of Owensboro, Mary Susan Mattingly of Louisville, Lisa (and Ron) Lanham of Owensboro , Terry L. Mattingly of Owensboro, Joni L (and Paul) Arcuri of Hollywood, Fl, and Sherry (and Todd) French of Owensboro; a son, Travis Maupin of Louisville; a granddaughter; 2 step-grandchildren; his aunt, Jean Morris of Owensboro; and many nieces, nephews, and friends..

Services will be 1 P.M. Monday, July 28, 2008 at Immaculate Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 7 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
