Frederic J. Schmidt

Frederick J. Schmidt, Jr., 76, of Owensboro, died Thursday, September 26, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System.

The Louisville native was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church, a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in architectural engineering, was an electrical engineer at General Electric and later MPD, from where he retired. He was an Army veteran of World War II and an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Martha Lee Schmidt, two sons, Mark Schmidt of Owensboro and F. Michael Schmidt of Covington, a daughter, Claudia Marie Nolan of London, KY, a sister, Emma Briggs of Louisville, and 4 grandchildren.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon until 1 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m Saturday.
