Freddie Joe Craig, 81, of Maceo, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026. He was born on October 3, 1944, in Daviess County, to the late Otis and Margaret Roberts Craig.
Though Freddie was a cowboy at heart, he spent his life devoted to his true passion—farming. He recently returned to his love of horses, even building a “cowboy” room in his new home. He enjoyed traveling to Texas to visit his only granddaughter while she attended law school, particularly spending time at the Fort Worth Stockyards. Freddie earned the designation of Kentucky Colonel, and he was a member on the Maceo-Yelvington Fire Department Board. He remained a longtime member of Maceo Baptist Church, serving as a trustee and leader of the security team.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Martha Wells.
Freddie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marty Newman Craig; his daughters, Pam Craig and Amy Craig Vitato; his granddaughter, Kaylee; his horse, Dallas; and a brother, Charles (Charlotte) Craig.
The funeral service for Freddie will be held at 10 am, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Tim Moss officiating. Burial to follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 until 7 pm on Friday and from 9 am until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Maceo Baptist Church, 9321 Kelly Cemetery Road Maceo, KY 42355.
