Fred Sacra

Fred Sacra, 59, of Owensboro died Sunday, April 9, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Owensboro to the late Joe and Shirley Thompson Sacra, and had worked for the River Port Authority for 22 years. Fred loved watching UK basketball, fishing with his Uncle Bob, and even though he didn't want to admit it he enjoyed playing video games. He loved car racing and when he was growing up he worked on the cars his brother raced. Fred was a well-liked, friendly guy who would give you the shirt of his back if you needed it. His greatest joy was time spent with his son and granddaughter.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Sacra, Jr. and Thomas Bruce Sacra.

Survivors include a son, Andrew Sacra, and his fiancé Jessica Cauley; adored granddaughter, Skylar Sacra all of Owensboro; brothers, Terry Sacra (Barbara) and Russ Sacra both of Fresno, CA; uncle, Bob Thompson (Brenda); and cousins, Karen Thompson, and Lisa Thompson.

Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will begin at Noon on Thursday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
