Fred Taylor Grant

Fred T. Grant, 88, of 34 Orchard St., Fern Terra Suites, Owensboro, formerly of Louisville, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Ohio Co., Ky. to the late Frederick Taylor and Annie Grubb Grant. He had graduated from Rockport High School in Rockport, Ky. and attended Western Kentucky University He had owned and operated Grants Barber Shop in Louisville, Ky. for 42 years until he retired. He was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and before moving to Owensboro had been a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Louisville for 45 years. He served as president of his Sunday School Class, Methodists Mens Group, and church board at Bethany Methodist. He was a 65 year member of the Masonic Lodge currently in the Valley (Ky.) Masonic Lodge #511. He was an avid gardener, had farmed some in the past, and was a Ky. Colonel.

He married Maurine Everley and they recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. In this union, there were five children, Ronnie Dean Grant and wife Patricia Baldwin of Beaver Dam, Ky. Beverley Ann Grant McEnroe and Donna Margaret Grant, both of Owensboro, Fred Kenneth Grant of Bowling Green, and Kevin Woodson Grant and wife Jeri Allen of Louisville, a brother, Charles Bennett Grant of Louisville, 13 grandchildren, Jonathon, Brandon, Josh, and Justin Grant, Nancy Blackwell, Jennie Hatcher, Wendy Tipton, Toni Greer, Trish Gardner, Danna Johnson, Rachel Woods, Allison Edwards, and Elizabeth Grant, and 15 great grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 21 at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Brad Woods. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 6:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
