Franklin Joseph Mason

Franklin Joseph Mason 76, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died Monday, June 7, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Decker Township, Indiana to the late Sterling and Edna Fern Pickle Mason on December, 24, 1933. He was a Field Engineer for Data General, a member of Central Presbyterian Church for 46 years and served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Mason was an avid golfer and had made two hole-in-ones, loved playing basketball, rooting for UK and traveling in his RV, but most of all he loved his family and taking care of his beloved wife. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Carol Louise Mason on November 4, 2009.

Survivors include his children, Linda Ann Purdy and her husband Philip of Leavenworth, KS, Michael Allan Mason and his wife Ruth Ann of Owensboro, Jan Marie Hardesty and her husband Perry of Owensboro, Sharon Kay Fuchs and her husband Tom of Louisville, Rosemary Hodges and her husband Matt of St. Louis, MO, and Roger Ernest Mason and his wife Sandra of Kennesaw, GA; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack Royse Mason of Vincennes, IN and Terry Lee Mason of Grove City, OH.

Services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after Noon on Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
