Franklin T. King, 61, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 at his sister's home. Born February 13, 1947, Mr. King was the son of the late Roscoe F. King and Nora L. Connor King Burns; worked in the oil fields for 30 years, Gibbs in Henderson for 8 years, and retired from West Irving Die Casting; and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. He enjoyed UK basketball, fishing, talking about his oil field days and, most of all, spending time with his sister, Janice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Robert G. Burns.
He is survived by his only sister, Janice Reynolds and her husband Joe; nephews, Clinton Howard and his wife Bridget and Jeremy Howard; nieces, Misty Howard and Jessica Howard; great-nieces, Madison Howard, Aleah Kessenger, and Alivia McFadden; great-nephews, Jordan Howard, Garrett Howard, and Landan Howard; and several cousins.
Services are 10 A.M. Monday, December 15, 2008 at St Stephen Cathedral with Father John Vaughan officiating followed by burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m. Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
