Franklin W. Jackson

Franklin W. Jackson, 76, of Owensboro, passed away Friday, November 6, 2026 at his home. He was born in Winchester, Kentucky to the late James J. and Leola Howard Jackson.

Franklin had most recently worked in housekeeping at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Prior to that he worked for more than 15 years at Audubon Metals. Franklin was an avid fisherman. He started taking his boys fishing before they could even walk! He was also a big sports fan, especially of the Louisville Cardinals. He will be dearly missed by many.

Along with his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by brothers, Adrian Jackson and Clarence Lisle.

He is survived by his wife Vickie Jackson, who he fell in love with 34 years ago and married 9 years ago; children, Franklin Carter, Amber Sweeney, Joshua Sweeney (Elishia) and Jamal Sweeney (Ginny); 11 grandchildren; sisters, Frances Sydnor (his twin), Sharon Morris (Charles), Leola Hampton (Reed), Mary Ann Jackson and Lisa Jordan; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Phelps.

The service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 11 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM.
