Frank C. Howard, 74, of Masonville, KY died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He fought a short but courageous battle with ANCA Vasculitis, a rapidly progressive auto-immune disease.
The oldest of eleven children, he was born November 25, 1942 to the late Cyrille and Marguerite Howard. He was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Howard, and his sister, Ida Mae Allen. He retired from Green River Steel and owned and operated Frank Howard Real Estate and Auction.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Hagan Howard; his three daughters, Denise (Terry) Hayden of Hendersonville, TN; Sherry Dawson of Cottontown, TN; and Kim (Joe Paul) Bickett of Masonville, KY; his six granddaughters, Rachel (CPT. Jonathan) Ramey, Megan Dawson, Taylor Hayden, Ashton Hayden, Alyssa Bickett, and Jayden Bickett; and his great-grand-daughter Delilah Ramey. He is also survived by his sisters: Charlotte (Mike) Eckert of Newburgh, IN; Nelda (Gary) Grant of Owensboro, KY; Janie Foss of Philpot, KY – and his brothers: Shelby (Kay) Howard of Whitesville, KY; Leslie (Susie) Howard of Philpot, KY; Walter (Becky) Howard of Newburgh, IN; Kevin Howard of Philpot, KY; and Russell Howard of Owensboro, KY.
He was so proud that he had three wonderful "grils" (girls), six beautiful granddaughters, and one sweet great-granddaughter. He said he was the luckiest man alive to have so many lovely women in his life. His granddaughters were the light of his life. He loved teaching them to do donuts in his old red truck, how to ride horses, and skunking them in cards – or it may have been the other way around.
Visitation will be held at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 from 2-8PM and Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 from 8-9:30AM. Prayers will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Services for Frank will be held at Blessed Mother Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 at 10AM.
