Franklin L. Gillim, Sr, 70, of Philpot passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Owensboro to the late Hugh and Eula Kingkade Gillim. Frank retired from Solar Sources, was a member of Masonville United Methodist Church and had served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed antique tractor pulling, hunting, gardening and mowing his lawn. Frank was a jokester, always with a quick wit and a smile on his face.
He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Ethan Gillim.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandra Gillim; children, Frankie Gillim (Kerri) of Philpot, Jeana Gillim Clater (Jason Thorpe) of Pleasant Ridge, and Jennifer Harley (Bo) of Depaw, IN; grandchildren, Frankie Lee Gillim, Peyton Harley, Hayden Gillim, Kiersten Martin, Jake Harley, and Kylen Clater; and siblings, Barbara Martin, Jim Gillim (Lou), and Richard Gillim (Sandra).
Services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday at Masonville United Methodist Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Masonville United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association.
