Frank Frankie Ray Sampson, Jr., 66, of Owensboro, died Sunday, July 13, 2003 at his home. He was born on March 6, 1937 in Daviess County; was a retired sheet and metal worker; and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed his children, coon hunting, horse racing, playing cards, and had served as a volunteer coach for the Western Little League.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Jude Cole in 1990.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rayda Brown Sampson; two sons, Jerry Lee and his wife Lisa Wilkins Sampson and Dustin Scott Sampson both of Owensboro; two daughters, Valerie Sampson and her husband Sam Cole and Sue Sampson and her husband Scott White both of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Nathan Lee Gaston, Jordan Tyler and Megan Kathleen Cole, and Kasey Lynn and Hanna Lei Sampson all of Owensboro, and Bree Ann White all of Owensboro; and one great-granddaughter, Haleigh Marie Haleigh Bug Gaston and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, and after 9 A.M. on Wednesday.
