Frank F.T. Johnson, 83, of Owensboro, died Sunday, May 21, 2006 at his home. The Daviess County native was born August 3, 1922 to the late Francis T. and Petronilla Speaks Johnson. He was of the Catholic faith, a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, a Veteran of WW II in which he received the Silver Star, and an electrician with IBEW Local #1701. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching horse races.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were his sisters, Edwina Payne, Mae Hester, Lily Horton and Lucille Schweikarth, and his brothers, Herbert and Wilbon Johnson, and his son-in-law, David G. Dickie Payne, Sr.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Dorothy Maxine Johnson, his son and daughter-in-law, David T. and Maureen Reenie Johnson of St. Augustine,FL, his daughter, Becky Payne of Owensboro, his sisters and brothers-in-laws, Cecilia Hawkins, Marjorie Clark and her husband Jack, Bill Horton, and Mildred Smith all of Owensboro, his brother, Harold Johnson and his wife Barbara, of Owensboro, five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Meredith officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 23 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m., with prayers at 6:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
