Frank Leroy Jiggs Johnson, 86, of Calhoun (formerly of Owenbsoro), died Friday, January 28, 2005 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born February 8, 1918, Mr. Johnson was a retired upholsterer and member of the Whitesville Christian Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater and was a member of the Calhoun VFW Post 5415. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Julia Johnson in 1999, a granddaughter, Kimberly Johnson in 2004, a brother, Albert Johnson and a sister, Trudy Carraway..
He is survived by two sons, David Leroy Johnson of Warren, OH and Bruce Johnson of Owensboro; two daughters, Brenda Joyce Morris of Calhoun and Barbara Kay Hostetler of Peru, IN; 10 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willie Lee Johnson and George Johnson both of Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service are 10 A.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 P.M. Monday and after 8:30 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Wendell Foster Center.
