Francis Martin Stallings, 78 of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center-Hillcrest. Born in Daviess County on December 13, 1933, he was the son of the late Cleveland and Mary F. Hamilton Stallings; was retired from National Southwire; and was a member of Sts Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Stallings; brothers, Kenny Stallings and Cary M. Stallings; and a sister, Joyce Wimsatt.
Surviving are children, David (Diane) Stallings of Maceo and Dennis (Sharon) Stallings and Judy Dampier (Allen) all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Andrew (Jahna) Dampier, Chris (Tracy) Stallings, Nick (Jo Anna) Stallings, Keith (Jennifer) Stallings, Ryan (Mandy) Stallings, and Jarod (Brooke) Boling; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Carroll Stallings of Frenchburg, KY, Edward (Agnes) Stallings of Owensboro, Daniel L. (Rita) Stallings of Utica, Allan (Kay) Stallings of Owensboro, and Steve (Sheila) Stallings of Beaver Dam; and a sister, Edana (Matt) McDaniel of Portland, OH.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at Sts Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday and after 8:30 a.m. on Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening.
