Francis A. "Frank" McCarty

Francis A. “Frank” McCarty, 77, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Owensboro to the late Lawrence and Georgia Marie McCarty. 

 Frank retired from the City of Owensboro’s Water Resource Agency. He had also worked as a first responder with an ambulance service. Frank was good at working with his hands and his other work included Bassett Heating and Air and various construction and homebuilding projects. He had a strong interest in trains and had accumulated a nice collection of model trains. Most of all, Frank enjoyed spending time with family.

 He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Kathleen McCarty; a daughter, Tammy Shearer (Paul); step-children, Connie White, Judy Barton and Johnny Damron; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine Hayden, Elaine Glenn, Patsy Wright, Mary M. Dowdy,

Larry McCarty, Randy McCarty and Kenny McCarty; and many nieces and nephews.

 The funeral service will be at Noon, Friday, May 17 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 9:30 AM until time of service.

 Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
