Frances Omega Whitaker

Frances Omega Whitaker, 90, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Hermitage Care and Rehab Center. She was born in Owensboro to the late Roxie and Guy Ambrose.

Omega was a lifetime member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she had helped run the Vacation Bible School and played the piano and organ for many years.
She served as bookkeeper in the family businesses and was a very loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Omega was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Charles E. Whitaker; brothers, Odie and Bud Ambrose.

She is survived by two daughters, Pam (Martin) Rowland of Beaverton, Oregon and Debbie (Joe) Chapman of Owensboro, two sons, Ron (Artie) Whitaker of Philpot and Tim (Jamie) Whitaker, D.M.D. of Bowling Green, seven grandchildren, Scott (Nicola) Whitaker, Shannon Whitaker, Mark (Deepti) Rowland, John Whitaker, Ann (Ben) Thompson, Erin Whitaker, and Kevin Chapman, and a great grandchild, Nikhil Rowland.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 20 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Dr. James Wedding will officiate. Burial will be at Yellow Creek Church Cemetery. Friends may visit on Tuesday after 12 Noon at the funeral home.
