Frances Elizabeth "Betty" O' Bryan, 98, of the Carmel Home, went to rest in peace on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Carmel Home. She was born December 24, 1917 in Knottsville to the late Charles William and Agnes Victoria Payne Aud. Betty had worked at Glenmore Distillery where she met her husband and then spent her time raising her family on a small farm, She loved to cook, can, entertain, and work in her vegetable garden. She also enjoyed raising flowers, playing cards, and traveling and camping with friends. Betty still did embroidery work and needlework until her mid 90's. She was a very devout Catholic and member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Parish for many years and was currently a member of Immaculate Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert P. O'Bryan, Sr. in 2004, a son, Robert P. O'Bryan, Jr. in 2007, a son-in-law, Charles L. Ebelhar in 2010, and siblings, Raymond, Louis, Hubert, and Eugene Aud, and Mary Jo Nugent.
Surviving are daughters, Jeanette Ebelhar of Owensboro and Mary Beth Carrico and husband Tim of Carencro, LA, sons, Raymond O'Bryan and wife Bonnie of St. Louis Park, MN and James Patrick O'Bryan and wife Theresa of Owensboro, daughter-in-law, Mary Lou O'Bryan of Owensboro, 10 grandchildren, Beth Chandler (Tommy), Lori Roberts (Ron), Matt O'Bryan (Halina), Jennifer Thompson (Kevin), Mark O'Bryan (Amy), Christie Hart (David), Jackie Hakanson (Lee), Michelle Alleman (Bubba), Chris Carrico, and Scott Carrico, 17 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A very special "Thank You" to all who took care of Betty at the Carmel Home. The staff went out of their way, especially her best friend Ms. Mary Faulkner. The sisters and staff at the Carmel Home are very special and she loved them all very much.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 7, at Immaculate Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday with prayers at 6:30 P.M. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 8:30-9:30 A.M. Monday at the Carmel Home.
