Frances L. Johnson, 78, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born May 17, 1937 in Uniontown to the late Samuel Hammond, Sr. and Rose Hagan Hammond. Frances was retired from A. T. & T., was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and loved her church family very much. She was an avid seamstress, and enjoyed cooking, reading, and watching Westerns. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Hammond in 2003 and Edward Hammond in 2007, and a sister, Cecilia Chambers in 1987.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hammond of Owensboro, a son, Craig Johnson of Frankfort, three grandchildren, Damian Brown and Tiah Brown, both of Owensboro, and Dee Dee Brown of Clearwater, FL, 10 great grandchildren, two brothers, Samuel Hammond, Jr. of Louisville and Charles (Judy) Hammond of Uniontown, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Noon Saturday, November 7, at Blessed Sacrament Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament.
