Frances Harrison, 100, of 2000 Lexington Avenue, Owensboro, passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 at her home. Her husband, Dr. Horace Harrison died in 1980. Born September 6, 1906 in West Union, Illinois, a daughter of the late Arthur and Emma Williams Walker, Mrs. Harrison was a graduate of the Indiana University School of Nursing where she was a member of International Sigma Theta Tau. Mrs. Harrison was a charter member of the Daviess County Medical Auxiliary which she served as president from 1949-1950, Settle Memorial Untied Methodist Church, and its Fellowship Class.
Survivors include her son, Horace Harrison, Jr. and his wife Popi of Portland, OR; her daughter, Sue Harrison Fister of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Tracy Fister of Dallas, Sean Fister of Lexington, Horace Harrison, III of Ridgefield, WA, and John Harrison of Portland; a great-grandson, Andrew Harrison of Ridgefield; and her brother, Sam Walker of Tiffin, Ohio.
Services, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Glen Sowards and the Rev. Todd Love will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the memorial funds of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church.
