Frances Wells Evans of Owensboro, Kentucky died Friday, October 15, 2010, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Daviess County to the late James Worden and Clara Estes Wells, was a member of Third Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school, was a retired teacher from the Owensboro School System and was a member of the DAR, General Evan Shelby Chapter where she had served as a state regent. Mrs. Evans was also preceded in death by her siblings, Rachel W. Thompson, Ewing E. Wells and Dorothy W. Marksberry.
Survivors include her sons, James O. Evans of Lexington and Charles D. Evans of Owensboro; grandchildren, Mica E. Hider and her husband Robert of Silver Spring, MD, Kelly E. Roberson and her husband Jason of Lebanon, TN; and James David Evans of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Noon on Monday at Third Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Third Baptist Church and the General Scholarship Fund of Kentucky Wesleyan College.
