Frances Roby Ballard

Frances Roby Ballard, 87, of Knottsville died Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Carmel Home. Mrs. Ballard was born March 23, 1929 in Daviess County to the late Hobert and Bernadette Speaks Roby. She was a devoted mother and housewife who loved cooking, sewing, fishing, playing cards, talking on the phone and going out to eat with family and friends.

Mrs. Ballard was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph A. Ballard Jr. and also her second husband, James "Beck" Roby; brother, Dr. Joseph Roby; sister, Mary Scott.

Survivors include her sons, J. Noel Ballard Sr. and wife Theresa of Owensboro, Philip Ballard and wife Jeanetta of Utica, Christopher Ballard and wife Mary also of Knottsville; brother, Charles Roby; sister, Catherine Mudd; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; several step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

The service will be 10:00 AM Monday, June 27 at St. William Catholic Church in Knottsville with Father Mike Clark officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 with prayers at 7:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and Monday from 8:00 till 10:00 AM at St. William. Burial will be in the St. William Cemetery beside her first husband, Junior Ballard.
