Floyd Allen "Mr." Ray, 61, of Maceo, died at the Nortons Hospital in Louisville, KY on Wednesday November 16, 2011. He was born on April 18, 1950 in Owensboro to the late Autry and Cecelia Trodglen Ray. In 1970, he was married to Barbara Katherine Adcock and they have two sons.
Floyd was employed by Mayfield-Hodges Body Shop in Owensboro since 1990. He was previously employed at Cambron's Body Shop. He was a U. S. Army veteran having proudly served from 1970 until 1972. He was an active outdoorsman, gun enthusiast, racing fan, and an avid U.K. basketball fan.
Floyd was an active member of Maceo Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Director, and Choir member. He will be especially remembered for his willingness to help others, the ability to repair anything, and him never meeting a stranger.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara; his son Brian and his wife Kristi of Owensboro along with their two children Dylan and Harleigh; his son Aaron and his wife Beth of Danville, KY along with their children Landon and Hunter. He also leaves behind seven siblings, Martha Hall of Owensboro, Dee Walker of Florida, Jerry Ray of North Carolina, Charlene Powers of Yelvington, Debbie Burden of Owensboro, Timmy Ray of Alabama, and Madonna Babb of Maceo. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Randall Ray of Maceo.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, November 19, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
