Florence Marie Thompson Lovejoy

Florence Thompson Lovejoy, 86, of Owensboro died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Dawson Pointe Nursing Facility in Dawson Springs. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. Born August 2, 1921 in Owensboro, Mrs. Lovejoy was the daughter of the late Hayden and Kathleen Head Thompson. Preceding her in death were her husband, James Lovejoy, and four brothers, Joseph H. Thompson, Thomas M. Thompson, Richard Vernon Thompson, and S. Ray Norris.

She is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Pallie Kurz and her husband Paul of Murray, Mrs. Peggy Steinsberger of Speedway, IN, Mrs. Geraldine Payne and her husband Bill, Mrs. Marilyn Osborne , Mrs. Beulah Herrel and her husband Charles all of Owensboro, and Mrs. Clara Sue Downs of Hopkinsville; three brothers, Albert M. "Mike" Thompson and his wife Cloa and Charles D. "Dan" Thompson both of Owensboro, and John A. "Jack" Thompson of Chattanooga, TN; and many nieces and nephews.

There will no visitation. Burial will be in Belleville, IL. Glenn Funeral Home handling arrangements.
