Flora Lee Young

Mrs. Flora Lee Young, 77, of Hawesville, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, IN. She was born April 21, 1928 to the late Roy and Alma Ervin Canfield in Grafton, WV. She retired from the Department of Human Resources, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Owensboro, the American Legion Auxiliary since 1956, the 8&40 Auxiliary since 1959 and she was past department president of American Legion Auxiliary District 5 in Connecticut.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl T. Young in 1985 and her companion, Earl S. Crooks in 2004.

Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Bolen of Owensboro, Dee Griffin and her husband, Bill of Hawesville, sons, Michael Young and his wife, Janet of Morris, IL, Tracey Young and his wife, Vickie of Steger, IL; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren; aunts, Clara Walthall of Lafayette, GA and Charleene Stevens of Benton, KY.

Services will be private at Owensboro Memorial Gardens, with burial following. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
