Faye Sims Constant

February 14, 1943 — January 3, 2018

Faye Sims "Ms. Faye" Constant, 74, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky and surrounded by her family. Faye captured hearts as a Valentine baby born on February 14, 1943 to the late Mary Richard (Lush) and Shelby Sims in Grayson County. She made it her life's mission to care for others' homes and children as if they were her own. To this day, some of her dearest friends are those children and families. She worked as the first-ever Guest Service Specialist at Salsarita's and was affectionately referred to as Ms. Faye. She loved to cook and used this gift to build strong and lasting relationships, solve problems, and pass on her wisdom. Faye was a devout and dedicated member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and participated in many church activities and leadership groups. Faye was an avid cheerleader on Facebook for all of her family and friends, and so enjoyed pictures and posts of all she knew. She gave the best hugs to everyone she met and gained strength in helping people. Words many used to describe Faye were "angelic, giving, funny, generous, fiery, loving, motherly, servant, caring, and selfless".

Faye was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 53 years, James Constant in October 2017.

She was loved, cherished, and treasured by her three sons, Mark, Matthew, and Jonathan; her adopted daughter, Sherry Rickard (Randy); 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; four sisters, Laverne Grant, Judy Warren, Marian Sims, and Michelle Knobloch (Tom); 2 brothers, James Richard Sims and Warren Patrick Sims (Brenda); several nieces and nephews.

Services will be noon Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday from 2 until 8 with prayers at 6:30 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and Saturday after 10 am at the church. A private burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Peonia, Kentucky.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathen's Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301 or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 4029 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
