Faye Vandyke Cason

Faye Vandyke Cason, 93, of 1205 Leitchfield Road, Owensboro, died Tuesday May 29, 2001 at Leisure Years Nursing Home. Mrs. Cason was born in Paris, TN on December 3, 1907. Her husband, Joseph T. Cason preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by three children, John Edwards in 1999; Alfred Porter in 1977 and Mary R. Martin in 1999.

She retired from working for the A. J. Reynolds Family. She was a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church where she was in the Senior Choir and the Ladies In White. Mrs. Cason was also a member of the Amaranth Chapter # 46 of the Order of the Eastern Star and she enjoyed crocheting.

Mrs. Cason is survived by one son, Thomas Porter of Paris, TN; two grandchildren, Vince Edwards of Lexington, KY; Wagnell Martin of New Albany, IN; seven great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday June 2, 2001 at Fourth Street Baptist Church with Reverend George E. Sebree officiating. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday June 1, 2001 at Fourth Street Baptist Church. Eastern Star services will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
