Farrell R. Thomas

Farrell "Bill" Thomas, 81, of Owensboro, left this world for his heavenly home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 28, 2008, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. He was born October 5, 1926 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late William and Dosie Thomas. He was born again in 1944. He entered immediately into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and the fullness of his heavenly home. He was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church and lived out his life in service to his wonderful Savior. Bill served as a deacon for 60 years, a Sunday School teacher, Royal Ambassador leader, and in many other services to his church. He was a great man, a loving father, and a friend to all. He was also preceded in death by a son, Randy in 1956, three brothers, Jay Thomas, Buck Thomas, and Jack Thomas, and three sisters, Eunice Quinn, Betty Smith, and Leona Butler.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy Y. Thomas, two daughters, Pamela Porter and husband David of Owensboro and their three daughters, Felicia Hamilton, Angela Blandford, and Deanna Porter; Susan Wedding and husband James of Owensboro, and their three daughters, Jaime French, Leigh Ann Moore, and Shannon Kessinger; a son, Keith Thomas and wife Terry of Puyallup, Wa. and their four daughters, Brooke Anderson, Kerri Anne Thomas, Kirsten Thomas, and Taylor Thomas, and eight great grandchildren, John David, Brice, Corbin, Ashlyn, Olivia, Kaylee, Bailey, and Landon.

Services will be 12:00 P.M. Thursday, July 31, at Sugar Grove Baptist Church with burial following in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio Co. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the church.
