Ewing E.Butch Wells, Jr., 66, of 2117 Bell Road, Maceo, KY, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Daviess County to Evelyn Bell Wells and the late Ewing Elwood Wells, Sr. on May 24, 1939. A construction foreman, he had worked for the Koester, Construction Co. in Evansville, IN and had retired from the Local 181 Operators Union. He had also worked as a heavy equipment operator. He attended Maceo Baptist Church and had served in the Air Force. He enjoyed NASCAR and gardening.
Mr. Wells is survived by his wife, Brenda Rushing Wells; three sons, Jeffery (Kim) Wells of Sheridan, WY, Jody (Susan) Wells of Dale, IN, and Jason (Leann) Wells of Louisville, NE; one daughter, Jana (J.J.) Van Prays of Flagstaff, AZ; two step-children, Sonya (Troy) Looney of Olive Branch, MS and Mark Steele of Owensboro; his mother, Evelyn Bell Wells, a brother, Ronnie (Susan) Wells, and a sister, Margaret Ruth (Don) Miller all of Spice Knob, KY; 14 grandchildren and 1 step great-grandchild.
Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., and after 9 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Maceo Baptist Church and Hospice of Owensboro.
