Evelyn Vollman Frey Gill

Evelyn Vollman Frey Gill, daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Vollman, died October 17, 2009 at the Carmel Home in Owensboro. She was born January 21, 1912 in Daviess County and was a member of Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church. She worked at G.E. for many years and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul M. Frey in April, 1966, and her second husband, Walter E. Gill in December of 2001. Her father, Frank G. Vollman Sr. died in December, 1962, and her mother, Bertha Hagan Vollman in August, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Leo and F.G. Vollman, and her sisters; Rose Froehlich and Gene Edwards.
Surviving are her son; Ronnie (Diane) Frey of Owensboro, her daughter; Betty (Sam) Coomes of Whitesville, granddaughters: Christy Frey of Owensboro, Ron Ann (Andrew) Myers of California, and Julie Lanham of Whitesville, grandsons; Matthew (Jeneen) Coomes of Philpot, Mark (Maria) Coomes of Wildwood, Missouri, Stepson; Paul (Chris) Gill of Louisville, and stepdaughter; Denise Gill of Louisville, step-grandchildren; Audrey Hoener, Jennifer Charpentier and Brian Gill all of Colorado, seven great-grandchildren; Ashley and Max Lanham of Whitesville, Hannah, Katelyn and Jake Coomes of Philpot, Olivia and Noah Coomes of Wildwood, Missouri and two step-great-grandchildren; Jonathan Charpentier and Henry James Gill of Colorado, one brother; Bobby (Pearl) Vollman of Owensboro, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held, 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday fro m2 to 8 p.m. with prayers at 6 p.m., and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Carmel Home.
