Evelyn Smith Funk

Evelyn Smith Funk, 84, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Born in Sunnydale in Ohio County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Dewey Smith and Ina Gilliam Smith, she graduated from Hartford High School. Mrs. Funk retired as a group leader from General Electric following 47 years of service. She was a member of Seven Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed needlepoint. She was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Helen Jemiola and her brother, Wilden Smith.

Mrs. Funk is survived by her husband of 65 years, Douglas R. Funk; her son, Gary Funk and his wife Sandra, of Owensboro; her grandson, Jason Funk and her great grandchildren, Michael Funk and Samantha Funk, all of Newburgh; her brother, Frank Smith and his wife Jenna of Hartford, KY; her sister, Ethel Brodrick and her husband Tom of California; and her sister-in law, Ann Miller and her husband Dan of Indian River, FL..

The visitation and service for Mrs. Funk will be private. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
