Evelyn Whitehouse Ellis

Evelyn Whitehouse Ellis, 92, of Philpot, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on September 21, 1921 in Ohio Co., KY to the late Joel Thomas and Eva Gentry Whitehouse. Evelyn was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and the Today Bible Class. She had retired as the Lunchroom Manager of Philpot Elementary School and also had worked at General Electric Co. during World War II as a group leader in the Mounting Dept. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Harold Ellis on February 14, 1998.

Surviving are her daughters, Anita (Tom) Mischel of Owensboro and Linda (Basil) Mattingly of Atlanta, GA, five grandchildren, Diana (Gregory, Jr.) Ruehlmann of Chicago, IL, Tim (Megan) Mischel of Owensboro, Patty Mattingly of Charlotte, N.C., Beth Mischel and fianc Jordan Hutchinson, both of Louisville, and Eric Mattingly of Jacksonville, FL, her brother, Gordon Whitehouse of Philpot, a sister-in-law, Helen (George) Boyken of Owensboro, and a brother-in-law, Rev. Robert Nall of Evansville, IN.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 27, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 8:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
