Eva S. Mcbride

Eva Lorene Snyder McBride, 86, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Carmel Home. Born August 14, 1921 in Cloverport, Mrs. McBride was the daughter of the late William E. and Sarah Etta Spencer Snyder; attended Owensboro Christian Church; and retired from General Electric and worked 14 years in catering at the Executive Inn. She enjoyed playing checkers, gardening, and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. McBride in 2004; brothers, Homer Synder, Ernest Snyder, and James Snyder; and sisters, Jessie White, Monnie Anderson, Edith Synder, Irene Snyder, Dolly Robinson, and Helen Snyder.

She is survived by daughters, Donna Lee Powers (and Bob) Whitehouse of Prospect, Brenda Sue Powers ( and Robert) Craig of Versailles, and Vickie Lorene Powers (and Millis) Basham of Hawesville; step-daughters, Sharon Marie Young and Darline Lynn Ettienne of Owensboro; grandchildren, Michael Ward Roberts, David William Roberts, Kimberly Renee' Roberts Darland, Shelley Basham Poole, and Jason Ray Basham; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Juel Matthews of Owensboro.

Services are 10 A.M. Friday, April 11, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Anderson officiating followed by burial in Boling Chapel UMC Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Thursday and after 8:30 A.M. on Friday.
