Eugene "Gene" G. Boling, 81, of Owensboro died February 21, 2017 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Hancock County to the late Milner "Doc" Boling and Lucy Powers Boling. Gene was a member of Christ Community Church, retired from Willamette Industries after 32 years of service, had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Gene was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Collis Boling.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 55 years, Kathryn Rusher Boling; children, Pamela Boling Hennesy and her husband Steve of Franklin, TN and Gary Boling and his wife Ellen of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Lauren Hennesy and Evan Boling; sister-in-law, Angela Boling; nephews, Chuck Boling and Frank Boling; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care and love.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Myke Templeton officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
