Ettie Rose Hardy Head

Ettie Rose Hardy Head, 82, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at her home. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Joseph Guy Hardy, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Jackson Hardy. She was a homemaker and a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Morning Star Homemakers Club and enjoyed making crafts and raising a garden. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dixie Darlene Clark on August 17, 1997, a granddaughter, Deanna Marie Adkins on April 5, 1997, and a sister, Ava Frances Westerfield on June 29, 2008.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Eugene Head, three daughters, Sarah McAllister and husband Tim of LaGrange, Annette Lynn and husband Paul, Jr. of Owensboro, and Connie Adkins and husband David of Philpot, four sons, Randy Head and wife Janet of Beaver Dam, Eddie Head and wife Rosetta of Philpot, Kenny Head and wife Robyn and Stewart Head and wife Linda, all of Owensboro, 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Guy Hardy, Jr. of Owensboro, and four sisters, Georgetta Simpson of Louisville, Mabel Lindsey and Joyce Payne, both of Owensboro, and Gayle Hardy of New Albany, IN.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 12 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 7:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
