Etta Myrl Wade McLevaine

Etta Myrl Wade McLevaine, 84, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Hillcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 26, 1926 in Daviess County, she was a daughter of the late Ronda and Eva Taylor Wade. Mrs. McLevaine retired from General Electric following 40 years of employment and was an active member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church. She loved to travel, an interest which took her across Canada by train, on annual trips to Branson and Daytona Beach, and to the American West. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers, and needlework. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. McLevaine, Jr. in 1995, her brothers, Robert Wade and Rollie Wade, and her sister, Opal Taylor.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, including Norma Bracher and her husband David of Booneville, IN, Dale Wade and his wife Mary of Phoenix, Sheila Bishop and her husband Sherrill of Owensboro, Janice Lacefield and her husband Bill of Indianapolis, Nancy Cox and her husband James of Atlanta, and Robert Wade and his wife Judy of Wichita Falls, TX.

The funeral service for Mrs. McLevaine, officiated by the Rev. David Wiggins, will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will begin at 10:0 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Memorial Fund of Lewis Lane Baptist Church.
