Ethelreda Hayden

September 12, 1915 — February 25, 2007

Sister Mary Ethelreda Hayden, 91, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died February 25, 2007, at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 73rd year of religious life. She was a native of Fancy Farm.
Her ministry included St. Anthony Convent, Browns Valley (1936), and St. Mary Home, Owensboro (1938-39); St. Paul School, Leitchfield (1955-57), St. Lawrence School, St. Lawrence (1957-59) and St. Mary Magdalene School, Sorgho (1959-60 and 1960-61). She also taught in Grayson County, in Mayfield, in the Archdiocese of Louisville, and in Missouri, Nebraska, and New Mexico. An educator for 36 years, she retired to the Motherhouse in 1988.
Survivors include two sisters, Frances Goode of Paducah and Mary Elizabeth Willett of Boaz, nieces and nephews, and the members of her religious community.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, at Mount Saint Joseph, where visitation will begin Monday at 4 p.m., with a wake service following at 6:30 p.m.
Glenn Funeral Home, Owensboro, is in charge of arrangements.
