Ethel Rae Sturgeon

July 26, 1914 — December 11, 2002

Ethel R. Gram Sturgeon, 88, of 3362 Buckland Square, died Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at Heritage Place. Her husband, Charles E. Sturgeon, Sr., died in 1981.

The Daviess County native was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Willing Workers Sunday school class, Cumberland Presbyterian Women, an enthusiast of all sports, and an avid supporter of Kentucky Wesleyan basketball. and Owensboro High School athletics.

Survivors include 3 sons, Charles Sonny Sturgeon, Jr., Hugh Sturgeon, and Mike Sturgeon, all of Owensboro; a daughter, Betty Webb of Batesville, AK, a sister, Lois Ayer of Owensboro; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services are 3 p.m. Friday at Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and from 1 until 3 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
