Ethel Law Fuqua

Ethel Law Fuqua, 99, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Hillcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 30, 1907, Mrs. Fuqua was the daughter of the late John Henry and Mamie Tatum Law; was a homemaker; and member of the Central City Christian Church. Before marriage she was a telephone operator in Russellville, Kentucky. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and liked to cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.W. Fuqua, March 14, 1977, and two sisters, Pauline Cantrell and Ruth Proctor.

Mrs. Fuqua is survived by sons, Buddy R. Fuqua and wife Kae and Dr. William R. Fuqua and wife Shirley G. Fuqua, all of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Johnny Law of Royal Oak, MI.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Owensboro Christian Church or to St. Jude Research Hospital.
