Ethel Barker

Ethel Barker, 86, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at the Hillcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 31, 1918 to Ivory and Zillia Corley Barker, she was a member of the Third Baptist Church; was retired from General Electric where she worked as a Tester for 36 years; and loved to travel with the Senior Citizens Group. She was preceded in death by siblings, Frances Cain, Eunice Schultz, Floyd Barker, Amy Stinnett, Sadie Cain, Gracie Cain, Lena Barker, and Effie Garrett.

Surviving are brothers, George S. Barker of Owensboro and E.V. Barker of Peoria, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 2:30 P.M. Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. George E. Barker and Larry Barker, where visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Friday and after11 A.M. on Saturday. Burial will be in West Point Cemetery in Hancock County.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Third Baptist Church Building Fund.
