Esther B. Humphrey Keifner

Esther B. Humphrey "Aunt B" Keifner, 92, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Owensboro Place Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 31, 1920 in Curdsville. She worked at Ken-Rad in Owensboro and retired after 47 years employment at Bell South in Louisville. Esther was a lifetime member of the Communications Workers of America. She was a Christian and enjoyed reading, needle point, classical music, and her pets.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Alyce Osborne Humphrey, former husband Jon Edward Keifner, her son, Jon Billy Keifner in 1988, a sister, Hellen Dorris Lynch in 2003, a brother, George W. Humphrey, Jr. in 2003, a brother-in-law William T. Lynch in 2005, stepmother, Vera Jewell Humphrey, and a stepbrother, Lowell Jewell.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Sherry Keifner, and grandsons, Corey D. (Kathy) Keifner and Kreg C. Keifner, all of Northridge, CA, and J. Kendall (Amy) Keifner of Baton Rouge, LA, two great grandchildren, a nephew, Bill (Linda) Lynch of Owensboro, four nieces, Helen Lynch Norris of Owensboro, Donna Sprouse and Debi Parton, both of Sieverville, TN, and Tudi Fielder of Nashville, TN, several great and great great grand nieces and nephews. Also surviving are stepsisters, Wanda Robertson, Glenola Boyle, and Regina Wahl, all of Owensboro, and a stepbrother, Gary Jewell of Colorado.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 24 in the Chapel of Rosehill Cemetery. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
