Ernestine C. Roberts

Ernestine Ernie C. Roberts, 82, of Carmel Home, Owensboro died Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Philpot, Kentucky on April 24, 1920 the daughter of Theodore and Josephine Jarboe Coomes. Her husband, Vincent T. Roberts, preceded her in death in 2001.

Mrs. Roberts worked part time at Burger Chef for several years and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. She received the Volunteer of the Year Award at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, bingo, bunco, sewing and spending time at Golden Partners and senior citizens center.

Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Guytan of Plano, TX; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Emmie Dunbar of Owensboro and Georgie Murphy of Deland, FL.

Funeral services will be 10:0 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2002 at St. Stephen Cathedral. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2002 and after 8:30 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
