Ernestine Southard Casey Chapman, 93, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Chapman was born November 3, 1923 in Ohio County to the late Lewis and Winnie Kirtley Southard. She was a charter member of Masonville Baptist Church. Ernestine loved to travel with her friends, especially to the Smokey Mountains. She loved bowling and playing cards which she did almost nightly with her sisters.
Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Chapman in 2012; step-daughter, Rebecca Blincoe; brothers, Herbert, Conward, and Elbert Southard; sisters, Freeda Maddox and Jean Evans.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Ernie Casey and wife Judy of Lawrenceburg; two grandsons, Jeffery Casey of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Mark Casey and wife Jessica of Richmond; four great grandchildren, Tanner, Kensley, Grayson, and Gavin Casey; sisters, Elwanda Nelson of Owensboro and June Casey of Beaver Dam.
The service will be 12:00 noon on Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
