Ernestene H. Thomas

Ernestene H. Thomas, 80, of Owensboro passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Owensboro, a daughter of the late Herman L. and Maudie Gray Henry, Mrs. Thomas was a 1949 graduate of Owensboro High School. She retired from Texas Gas following 33 years of service. Mrs. Thomas was an avid fan of University of Kentucky basketball and enjoyed gardening. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James H. Henry, Herman L. Henry, Jr., Chester Lee Henry, and her sister, Mary Ruth Henry.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bernard M. "Marnell" Thomas; her son, Herman J. Thomas and his wife Jeanie of Lexington; her daughter, Marna Thomas Troutman and her husband David of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Tena Beth Jones of Owensboro, David Thomas Troutman and his wife Andi of Bowling Green, and Kyle Barrett Thomas of Lexington; her great grandchildren, Ryan Davis Troutman and Ali Marie Troutman, both of Bowling Green; and her sisters-in-law, Marie Henry and Sue Riney, both of Owensboro.

Services are at 12:00 noon Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday and after 10:00 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
