Ernest Tichenor

Mr. Ernest Tichenor, 88, of 2539 Christie Place, Owensboro, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born February 4, 1916, to the late William F. and Edna Powers Tichenor in Daviess County. He was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church, a member of the 550th Night Fighter Squadtron with the Army Air Corps. He was a Kentucky Colonel, enjoyed basketball, working in his vegetable garden, was a graduate of Daviess County High School, and started on the basketball team that went to the state tournament.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harlan Tichenor; and a sister, Beulah Libs.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Elizabeth Tichenor of Owensboro; two daughters, Frances Kay Tichenor and Mary Lynn Tichenor, both of Owensboro; one sister, Jane Libs of Owensboro, and nine nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 19, 2004, at Immaculate Catholic Church, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:30 until 7:00 PM Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home, with prayers being said at 5:00 PM. Online condolences may be made at www.glennfuneralhome.com
