Erma Lee Woolverton-Blue

Erma Lee Woolverton-Blue, 57, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord after a two year battle with a rare blood disorder, on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on August 10, 1951 in Gideon, Missouri to William "Sam" and Sara (Randolph) Woolverton. She graduated from Gideon High School in 1969 and after college worked in insurance sales for several years. She then retired from Hager Preschool in Owensboro as a family advocate in August of 2007. She and her husband John were married in 1997.
She was a member of Owensboro Christian Church. Erma enjoyed her family and friends and helping people with their many problems. She enjoyed watching Apollo High School basketball, and was an avid card player.
She was preceded in death by her father, William on August 9, 1980, and her step-father W. Bill Flowers, June 30, 1998.
Surviving are; her loving husband John Blue and sons; Lance Woolverton and Neal Blue of Owensboro, Lee Blue and wife Melissa of Sacramento, Ky., Kent Blue and wife Emily of Owensboro, her mother; Sara Woolverton of Malden, MO., brothers; Gary Woolverton and wife Vickie of Poplar Bluff, MO., Gerald Woolverton and wife Susan of Malden, MO., a sister; Twyla Merrell and husband Lloyd of Madisonville, Ky., and grandchildren; Samuel and Izzy Blue of Owensboro, and Payton and Keegan Blue of Sacramento, Ky., and nieces and nephews; Kimberly (Stephen) Weaver, Andrea Woolverton, Kristin Woolverton (Jeff) Jones, Lee (Melissa) Woolverton, Austin Davidson and Jackie Davidson, as well as a host of other relatives and close friends.
Visitation will be Friday, December 12, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro from 4 to 7 p.m. with a memorial service following at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, MO., at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Sunday in Malden. Burial will follow in Dunklin County Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Mo.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Cancer Society or to the American Red Cross.
