Eric Stephen, 52, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Daviess County on August 19, 1958, he was the son of the late Benjamin E. and Lorena Ebelhar Stephen; worked on the family farm and had previously worked as a sales representative for K & W Equipment; and was a member of St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. He was a member and former president of the St Mary Magdalene Men's Club; was former President of the Daviess County Young Farm Bureau; and was a former 4-H Instructor in the tractor program. Mr. Stephen enjoyed hunting, golf, spending time with his family, tractor pulling, and was a U of L and Green Bay Packers fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Spencer Stephen and Joe Stephen, and an uncle, Houston Stephen who was a very special second dad.
Surviving are children, Brad (Brandy) Stephen, Nick (Hannah) Stephen, and Stacey Stephen all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Graci Stephen, Christopher Stephen, Lilly Stephen, and Ally Jo Stephen; sisters, Elaine Grant (and Pat Morton) of Owensboro and Theresa (Larry) DeVincent of Warsaw, IN; a brother, Randahl (Mollie) Stephen of Owensboro; sisters-in-law, Donna Stephen and Karen Pollard of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2011 at St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday where prayers will be said at 5 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church Building Fund.
