Emogene Evans Daniel

Emogene Evans Daniel, 91, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Daniel was born May 25, 1927 in Daviess County to the late Buel Lain and Georgia Mae Church Lain. Emogene "Jean" was a 1946 graduate of Daviess Co. High School. She loved reading, boating, gardening, and going out to eat with her friends. Jean was extremely devoted to her family and provided a warm and welcoming home for all her children, grandchildren and their friends who loved hanging out there and benefiting from her excellent cooking. She was also very quick witted and had a dry sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Daniel was also preceded in death by her husband, William B. Evans in 1966; son, Steve Evans in 1989; and daughter in law, Susan Evans in 2017.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Renee Mesplay and Kim Eakins and husband Randy; two sons, Rick Evans and Bill Evans all of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren, Andy Evans, Amy Wimsatt, Bill Evans, Dana Evans York, Jennifer Gwin, Rachel Craig, Ally Evans, Jillian Vanover, and Brent Mesplay; 17 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Ilene Evans.

The funeral service for Emogene Daniel will be noon Thursday, January 3 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 10:00 am till time of service.. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
