Emma Mae Mattingly, 92, of Owensboro, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born October 21, 1916, to the late Kendred and Clara Coomes Clark in Daviess County. She was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church, worked at Ken-Rad, and retired from the Owensboro Area Museum after 15 years of service. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, working with her flowers, watching birds, and animals. She liked working word puzzles, and gambling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ellis Mattingly, on May 17, 1968, and a grandson, Jason Mattingly in 2006.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Charles Mattingly, and his wife, Linda of Henderson, Gary Mattingly of Owensboro, her daughter, Mae Beth Bishop of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Kerri Anne McEntire, and her husband, David, Elizabeth, Brandy, and Daniel Bishop; six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 12:00 PM Wednesday, at Immaculate Catholic Church, with burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30 AM Wednesday, at Glenn Funeral Home.
