Emma Valeria Greer

Emma Valeria "Val" Greer, 84, of Owensboro, went to be with her Lord, on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on December 19, 1928 in Harviell, Missouri to the late Ernest and Iva Dunlap Boyd. Val was a member of Owensboro Christian Church and was the Secretary-Treasurer for her Bible Study Class for 35 years. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billie Keith Greer on October 19, 1978, a son, Ernest Keith Greer, and two brothers, Bill and Lowell Boyd.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Greer of Owensboro, Brenda Barnes of Evansville, IN, and Sandy and husband Donnie Thomas of Owensboro, three grandchildren, Laurie Greer Workman, Stephanie Thomas, and Kelly Thomas, all of Owensboro, three great grandchildren, Emma and Josh Workman, and Aiden Thomas, a brother, Alfred Neal Boyd of Evansville, several nieces and nephews, and dear friends, Randy, Maria, Jessica, and Natalie Zogleman of Utica.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 29, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 8:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
