Elwood Mchenry

Elwood McHenry, Jr., 60, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Hartford on January 9, 1951, he was the son of the late Elwood McHenry, Sr. and Ozeal Beard McHenry. Mr. McHenry was an Air Force veteran and enjoyed basketball and movies. He was a caring, giving person and deeply cared for his family, especially his brother, Kenny. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Elwood Demond McHenry, III and a sister, Anita McHenry Wells.

Surviving is his wife Jessie Ann McHenry; a daughter-in-law, Lathsha McHenry; and a granddaughter, Emira McHenry all of Meriden, CT; sisters, Mary McHenry, Gayle Newton, and Ina Jean Taylor all of Owensboro; a brother, Kenneth McHenry of Owensboro; a brother-in-law, William Wells of Hartford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services are 4 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial and graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Kentucky
Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
